Celebrate?

People generally don’t come to us lawyers for criminal law and family law advice in celebration. (It’s okay we get it!).

Now is not your forever

One thing that is guaranteed is that most interactions with the legal system will be stressful and uncertain.

So why shouldn’t your interaction with your lawyer at least be enjoyable? Talking to a lawyer shouldn’t be overwhelming or scary. We are human’s, parents and spouses too. We bring our life experience to our role as your legal advisers and advocate. We offer a holistic approach providing skilled legal advice along with emotional support.

Judgment free

When you see a lawyer, whether it is for criminal law or a family law advice, you have to discuss really personal things.

We get to know our client’s life story, relationship history and personal details about their life and finances. We invest time in our clients getting to know them and their stories so that we can best advocate for them and their cases.

The lawyer/client relationship is built on trust. Trust can only be established when you feel seen, heard and truly listened too. You can only be open when you know that everything you say is completely confidential.

You will only feel safe to be vulnerable when you know there is no judgment from the listener.

And there is no judgment of our clients because we haven’t lived their life or walked in their shoes. We don’t experience their life through their eyes.

Yes, contrary to those jokes (often hilarious jokes) about us “lawyers”, we believe you can be professional and still friendly and caring.

At Coastal Lawyers, we give frank and practical legal advice. We offer a judgement-free and confidential space to discuss your legal problems, have your legal questions answered and make informed decisions about your unique situation.

Tech Savvy

Our clients are busy people who are often juggling work, kids and busy social calendars.. This is why we LOVE embracing technology. It just makes the whole process of giving legal advice simple and convenient.

We use the old-fashioned phone plus video calls to keep our clients updated regularly. As well as face to face appointments at our Erina offices when required.

We also use the latest legal technology, including convenient online bookings and payment options. Email and text messages to remind clients about their upcoming appointments and court dates. As well as a secure client portal so clients can conveniently view court documents and correspondence.

We are avocado

At Coastal Lawyers, we provide legal advice and representation in our main focus areas: Criminal Law, Traffic Law and Family Law. We represent our clients at all Central Coast Courts, including Gosford, Wyong and Newcastle Courts.

You won’t get the traditional approach at Coastal Lawyers. We are avocado. Some people love our approach, and it won’t be for others.

Be seen, heard and listened too.

We want people to leave Coastal Lawyers feeling seen, heard and listened too. We use a “new law model” and do things differently.

We get to the core of what drives our client’s decisions and truly understand what a positive outcome looks like to them. Because every client is different and every client wants different things.

But our friendly and approachable nature doesn’t mean we will sugar coat our advice. We are transparent as legal advisers regarding our costs and always give you hard truths about your case and let you know when your expectations aren’t realistic.

To offer our tailored services in this way means that we don’t take on all cases and don’t take on all clients. We only have a certain number of clients at any one time to maintain our personalised service.

However, we have an incredible network of fellow aligned lawyers and professionals we regularly refer clients to when we think they will be better suited.

Criminal law:

If the police have charged you with a criminal offence, we can appear in the Local Court, District Court and Supreme Court on your behalf.

Coastal Lawyers was founded by a former criminal prosecutor and a former police officer. We have decades experience prosecuting and investigating serious crime and misconduct. We use our valuable skills and experience to provide the best legal advice and representation for our clients.

Our professional network, tenacity and passion for the law is an asset to your case.

Coastal Lawyers also undertake Legal Aid work for eligible clients.

Traffic law:

The courts take certain traffic offences very seriously. Serious traffic offences carry lengthy licence disqualification periods, loss of demerit points, heavy fines and even jail.

If you have been charged with a serious traffic offence or are concerned about a traffic infringement notice, you should speak to an experienced traffic lawyer.

The traffic legislation can be very complex. Coastal Lawyers can explain the traffic laws in plain language so you are informed about your rights.

Family Law:

There is a reason so many songs are about breakups! They suck.

When couples have children and property together, they can become particularly stressful and challenging.

At Coastal Lawyers, we empower our clients to make informed decisions about parenting, property and divorce. We equip our clients with knowledge about their legal rights and responsibilities under the Family Law Act.

Our clients are committed to creating positive co-parenting relationships (even if they are not perfect) and reducing conflict for themselves and their children.

Going to court is a last resort as our clients want to save money, reduce stress and maintain control over their own parenting journeys and finances with their former partner, rather than having a judge decide.
