Erina High School is a welcoming, inclusive and proudly comprehensive government secondary school which is a partner in the Erina K-12 Learning Community of schools comprising Brisbania, Chertsey, Gosford East, Holgate and Woodport Public schools. Our school is committed to providing quality learning programs and opportunities which will assist each student to achieve ‘personal best’ learning outcomes while providing a rich environment of co-curricular extension experiences aimed at developing happy, confident and positive young people. Student, family and teacher partnerships have created a tradition of outstanding involvement and achievement in sport and the creative and performing arts. The school’s motto of Service Crowns Success is exemplified by student participation in community and school based volunteering programs in stages 4, 5 and 6 and is complemented by an established range of leadership opportunities providing students with a voice in school life and decision making. Within the Learning Support Team specialist personnel provide assistance with literacy, numeracy and learning skills based on individual student learning needs. Extensive student wellbeing programs implemented by the Student Welfare team play an important role in supporting students to grow, explore and develop positive relationships with one another and towards the community in which they live. The school’s Code of Conduct ethics of Care, Courtesy, Commitment and Cooperation underpin school life; high expectations are clearly articulated, and personal best effort and achievement are sought and celebrated. Highly qualified teachers committed to quality teaching, effective pastoral care and fair discipline deliver innovative and engaging programs across the academic, sporting, cultural and civic curriculum with explicit provisions for those with special needs and talents. Lifelong learning using technology is central to the school’s delivery of the curriculum and its co-curricular programs. The extensive curriculum provides both academic and vocational pathways, leading to the award of the HSC and achievement of TAFE credentials. An ATAR pathway provides access to university study for more than half of our graduating students, while other students progress through school-based apprenticeships, traineeships and TAFE study to both work and further training. Members of our Careers and Transition team provide careers learning programs, individual careers advice, transition planning and family and community liaison for students in all years. Our school provides a genuinely supportive learning environment for all students where partnerships with families and the wider community enrich and add value to school life.
